CBD Certificate of Analysis
What is a CBD Certificate of Analysis?
A CBD Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an official document that provides comprehensive information about the testing laboratory, the brand, and the product in question, as well as the potency of the ingredients in the product. In the case of hemp, CBD, and cannabis, these ingredients refer to cannabinoids such as THC, CBD, CBG, and CBN. COAs may also include terpenes and aromatic compounds contributing to the product’s scent, flavor, and therapeutic profile.
In addition to ingredient potency, the COA is crucial in helping consumers determine whether the product is free from harmful contaminants like heavy metals, pesticides, molds, and bacteria. Both USDA and State guidelines require that all products undergo testing. If a COA is unavailable, it is strongly advised not to consume or purchase it.
